Anna Ignatova’s book is a real gem for those who love to examine things that aren’t very easy to see. A string of stories from the life of the small Kingdom of M awaits you. In fact, it’s tiny — so small, in fact, that its borders barely extend beyond the edges of the illustration; the royal pond holds just a single goldfish; and the prince can only be seen through a magnifying glass. But this little boy loves big adventures. So, perched on his fearless tiger-cat, he bravely sets off with his friends to rescue those in distress, saves the people of a neighboring kingdom from a life of drudgery, and climbs high into the mountains for the sake of his artist friend’s love. Meanwhile, the king and queen eagerly await the return of these brave souls, so that, over a cup of tea and some little buns, they can ask the travelers again and again about the details of their far-flung journeys. Some readers are already familiar with the events of the first part of the book, “The Kingdom of M”, whilst the second and third parts are being published for the first time. Age rating: 0+
